## Multiplying by 10 and 100 – Looking for easy to use resources explaining how to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000 etc?

Here I have created and gathered some useful resources, free to download, for explaining how to multiply and divide by 10, 100, 100 etc.

Some can be printed and (optionally) laminated so you can have hands-on practice.

## Multiplying by 10 and 100 – An explanation

Schools teach that multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000 etc is NOT done by moving the decimal point. The decimal point does not move, the digits do.

All of the resources on this page help with this visualisation, of the digits moving.

This video explains clearly how to multiply and divide by 10, 100, 1000 etc.
